BIO

Pete Dowsett is a British audio engineer and has worked in many facets of the music industry, including studio engineering, mixing, mastering and live sound. Pete considers rock production and mix engineering to be his specialities.

He has worked at some of the most well known studios in the UK, including Metropolis, where he has worked with major artists such as: Pharrell, Snoop, Black Eyed Peas, Michael Kiwanuka. Since going freelance Pete has been working at various studios whilst setting up his own studio RYP Studios in Rayners Lane, North West London he has also been engineering for prestigious songwriter/producer Tom Nichols (Kylie Minogue, All Saints, Sugababes) on projects for major advertising (Kopparberg, Digital Cinema Media, House of Fraser) and with artists such as Dua Lipa, Laura Mvula and Scouting for Girls.

Pete has enjoyed major radio play, iTunes chart positions, British and US Television Syncs and produced music featured on the cover CDs of popular music magazines.

As a live sound engineer Pete has toured with Twisted Wheel, Ugly Kid Joe and Fozzy playing all the major festivals. As a in-house engineer he has done either Front of house or monitors for Foals, Pulled Apart By Horses, Dodgy, The Darkness, Chase and Status, Miles Kane, Buzzcocks and Cast.

Furthermore, he had his first book, Audio Production Tips: Getting the sound right at the source published by Focal Press in October 2015 and is a contributor to the Gobbler and lecturer at Abbey Road Institute, London.
